Is CCC Certificate Mandatory for Government Jobs? (2026 Rules)

Short answer: CCC is not required for every government job — but it is required for a large number of clerical and computer-based posts, especially in state recruitments that name "CCC" in the qualification. Where a notice names it, you must have the certificate by the date that notice sets, usually the form's closing date. Since July 2026 the CCC exam is held only four times a year, so plan a cycle ahead.

Which Jobs Commonly Ask for CCC?

CCC shows up most in posts where daily work happens on a computer:

• Clerk, Lower Division Clerk, Junior Assistant, Office Assistant

• Data Entry Operator

• Revenue and village-level posts such as Patwari, Lekhpal, Gram Sachiv / Village Development Officer — state by state

• Other state-government clerical posts whose rules require "CCC or equivalent"

Uttar Pradesh recruitments are the best-known example of notices that name CCC directly. In Haryana, check each advertisement: some test computer knowledge in the written exam instead, and some ask for a longer computer course. The notification is the only rule that counts — lists on websites (including this one) are a starting point, not a guarantee.

Does the CCC Grade Matter?

CCC grades run S, A, B, C, D (pass) and F (fail); 50 out of 100 is a pass. Most notices ask only for "CCC" — so a D grade is as eligible as an S. If a notice ever specifies a minimum grade, it will say so in writing; do not believe a claim that "most states need Grade B" without seeing it in the advertisement.
